Work Placements
Please Read Carefully
Work placements are dependent on the successful completion of the study programme, students having the requisite level of English, a good personal presence as well as having a flexible and positive attitude towards the placement
Hotel Placements
Platinum Programmes: Work Placements in 4/5 * Hotels in the South of England
Standard Programmes: Other Hotels: Work Placements in any calibre of hotel in any part of England. Hotels can be in remote areas and not necessarily in a town. Students will not be able to choose where the work placement will be and cannot be changed except in exceptional circumstances.
Accommodation during Work Placement
Platinum Programme: 4 and 5 star hotels do not offer accommodation. If required students will receive support from the work placement agency to find accommodation
Standard Programme: Accommodation is provided by the hotel. This will normally include meals. Students will have to pay approximately £50 per week. Please note that this will vary depending on the hotel. In exceptional circumstances, if the hotel is not able to provide accommodation, students will receive full support from the work placement agency.
Conduct
Students must attend regularly and punctually. SKOLA reserves the right to exclude or suspend students if their attendance is not satisfactory or for reasons of misconduct. Visa nationals who do not attend 90% of the course will be reported to the Immigration Authorities and no work placements will be arranged. No refund will be given in such circumstances.
Study Period Accommodation
Homestay and private home providers reflect the multi-cultural aspect of life in England and are selected and inspected according to the British Council criteria. They are chosen for the warm welcome and care they will provide for students and not for their proximity to the school. We will take into consideration requests made by students at the time of booking and will endeavour to meet these but cannot guarantee to fulfill every request unless it concerns health factors such as allergies.
Damage Or Loss
The School does not accept responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of any personal effects including money not in its care. We advise all students to arrange full insurance for health, travel and possessions.
Illness
The School must be notified promptly of any absences through illness. The School must be notified of suspected or known infectious diseases so that appropriate action can be taken.
