Students must hold a bachelors degree and have a minimum English level of intermediate – B2 in the Common European Framework (CEFR) IELTS 5

Cancellations

Prior to arrival: there is a cancellation fee of £100 on course cancelled 4 weeks or more prior to arrival. Refunds will only be made for cancellations less than 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the course in exceptional circumstances. e.g. ill health

During the course: No refunds will be made once the course has begun except in exceptional circumstances e.g. ill health

Visas and Passports

Visa/Passport applications are the responsibility of the student. This does not apply to EU nationals. Where visa applications are refused, school fees will be refunded upon presentation of supporting documentation from the British Embassy. The School will retain an administration charge of £100 for each student. No fees will be refunded without a visa refusal letter from the British Embassy. As it is a legal requirement that schools keep copies of passports of visa nationals, all students must bring their passport/identity card with them on the first day of school for checking and photocopying.

Course Fees

All fees must be paid in advance at the time of booking.

Work Placements

Please Read Carefully

The school undertakes to arrange work placements as part of the “WORKSKILLS PLUS” programme. These placements will be in 4 or 5 star hotels mainly in the south of the UK. Placements are dependent on successful completion of the study programme, students having the requisite level of English (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent) as well as having a flexible and positive attitude towards the placement. Students will not be able to choose where the placement is or change placement without the express permission of the school and the work placement agency

Conduct

Students must attend regularly and punctually. SKOLA reserves the right to exclude or suspend students if their attendance is not satisfactory or for reasons of misconduct. Visa nationals who do not attend 90% of the course will be reported to the Immigration Authorities and no work placements will be arranged.  No refund will be given in such circumstances.

Accommodation

Homestay and private home providers reflect the multi-cultural aspect of life in England and are selected and inspected according to the British Council criteria. They are chosen for the warm welcome and care they will provide for students and not for their proximity to the school. We will take into consideration requests made by students at the time of booking and will endeavour to meet these but cannot guarantee to fulfill every request unless it concerns health factors such as allergies.

Damage Or Loss

The School does not accept responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of any personal effects including money not in its care. We advise all students to arrange full insurance for health, travel and possessions.

Illness

The School must be notified promptly of any absences through illness. The School must be notified of suspected or known infectious diseases so that appropriate action can be taken.

School Closures

When UK Public Holidays fall during term time, schools will be closed. Public Holidays in 2010 occur on January 1, April 2, April 5, May 3, May 31, August 30. The school will be closed for the Christmas holiday from 17th December to Monday 2nd January 2011 inclusive.
