Our Schools
The Workskills Plus course leads to a qualification at level 3 accredited on the National Qualification Framework (NQF). Credits are awarded for each module passed and students will gain a certificate on completion of the course. Workskills Plus has a number of key benefits at its core, all of which will greatly enhance students' employability and job prospects.
Course Content
The course is made up of a number of Units. These units will be chosen according to the needs of the students but may include:
- Career development
- Strategies to improve job interview skills
- Organising and chairing meetings
- Presentations for work
- Project management skills
- Skills for starting a business
All classes will have a linguistic focus and students will also receive extra support with their English language and preparation for the IELTS test which students will sit at the end of the initial 26 weeks study. Exam fees are included in the cost of the course.

Starting a course
the course is modular in nature which allows students to join on the first Monday of each month.

Entry requirements
Students will have an intermediate level (B2) of English. Students not currently at this level have the option of following an English language course prior to commencing the Workskills Plus course. Students must have completed education up to pre-university level. (Please note that students applying from India should have completed university level education).
Certificates will be required to demonstrate the level of education completed as well as the level of English.
Assessment
Skola is an approved Edexcel examination centre and authorised to carry out internal assessments. You will receive a Certificate in Workskills from Edexcel on successful completion of the course.
Work placements
Paid placements in the hospitality industry
Work placements can be anywhere in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and not necessarily in a city. Many hotels are in small towns or in the countryside. Students are not able to choose where they go or change their work placement except in exceptional circumstances Students are not permitted to leave their work placement. Hotels will normally provide a room and meals. There is often a small charge. Experience in the hospitality industry is an advantage.
Internships
Unpaid work placements can be organised in a wide range of companies – IT – Finance – Marketing. This is an excellent way to enhance your CV and gain valuable experience in your chosen career. You will be expected to have a high level of English, to have relevant qualifications and some experience of the area in which you wish to work

You will need to send your CV (resume) detailing your previous work experience. Previous experience in the hospitality industry is an advantage if you require a paid work placement.
We will also send a test by e mail to establish your level of written English as well as your grammar and vocabulary. Please note that tests must be done without any assistance and without use of a dictionary. A further test will take place on arrival at the school and students found not to have done the original test unaided may be excluded from the course without refund of fees.
Once you have passed the application process and paid the fees for your course we will send you a visa letter.

Students from the EU do not require visas.
